You’re Secure. You Hold the Key

We set up our entire data network to support our clients, and to provide them opportunity, not to provide hackers with one more way to steal identities or personal information. We designed it how we would want it set up for ourselves, in fact, we all use it too!

We took the approach that people don’t want to share anything about themselves if their name is associated with what they’re sharing. For instance, most people don’t mind being a statistic and represented by being 1 out of 4,900 people in the study, but once the statistic is connected with them personally, then there’s a problem. For this reason, we separated personally identifiable information from any information provided by our clients.

The only way to access a client’s information is to be the client. This means that our clients manage their own information, and no one can access it unless they were to pass their device around, sharing their password and second login, to let someone look through it. It also means that the data we collect and share with our resource network doesn’t identify who our users are, because it doesn’t identify them. We openly share statistical information for the purpose of researching program effectiveness, need, or to improve opportunities for our clients. We also offer it for deeper study of repairing people and communities, but because of the way we’ve segmented our client’s details, we are unable to share who they are.

To drive this point home, we can’t access our client’s data either, only they can. Our users hold the key to their accounts. We’ve created a system more secure than your healthcare records, because we don’t think our client’s mind sharing data that doesn’t link back to them, and that they would want to put it out there to make their environment a happier, healthier, more fulfilling, and opportunity driven world.
